Kauri Cliffs

The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs is set on 6,000 acres of pristine farmland. The facility features 22 guest suites and a two bedroom Owners Cottage. Every suite offers its own private porch, bedroom with sitting area and open fireplace, walk-in wardrobe and luxurious bathroom. The cottages are nestled in a native forest overlooking the golf course and the Pacific Ocean. The main lodge features breathtaking 180- degree views of the Pacific Ocean, the offshore Cavalli Islands, and Cape Brett. Interior design is by Virginia Fisher of Auckland.

Facilities include the 18 hole championship golf course, two Astroturf tennis courts, two swimming pools (one indoor and one outdoor infinity pool), as well as a luxury spa and fully equipped fitness centre. The property also features three secluded swimming beaches, a natural waterfall, and a magnificent Kauri Tree.

The 5-Star facility is part of the prestigious Relais & Chateaux Collection and is ranked as one of the top two hotels in the South Pacific and the 20 hotels in the world.

Kauri Cliffs consists of eleven outlying guest cottages, each with two guest suites providing twenty-two accommodation units at Kauri Cliffs. Every suite offers its own private porch, comfortable bedroom with sitting area and open fireplace, walk-in his and hers wardrobes and a bathroom with a shower, bathtub and his and hers vanities. The cottages are nestled on the edge of a native forest overlooking the ocean and golf course.

The eleven cottages comprise 16 Deluxe units and 6 standard units which are nestled on the edge of native bush looking east from private verandas across the golf course and the Pacific Ocean. They are in a staggered row to the north of the main lodge building along a meandering tree studded path.

The main bedroom features an open gas fireplace, superior mini-bar, large armoire with a TV, DVD player, CD player, super-king bed (able to be split into 2 super-singles), rattan armchairs, writing desk and ottomans.

The Security rooms - there are two 'security' rooms in addition to the 22 Deluxe and Standard suites. Featuring two single beds, ensuite bathroom and wardrobe, these rooms are used predominantly for accompanying security, drivers, minders or children.

Gourmet a la carte dining is available in the main dining room or on the verandas of the lodge at Kauri Cliffs. Breakfast is a buffet of local and imported fruits, home-made muesli and cereals, yoghurts and freshly baked muffins. In addition, a hot menu featuring eggs, pancakes, crisp bacon, ham, sausages and ricotta hotcakes may be ordered. A formal three-course lunch is available. Alternatively, there are a variety of sandwiches, salads and desserts to choose from.

There are also wonderful picnic sites abound on the property - three secluded beaches, several waterfalls and stands of magnificent bush. A choice of delicious picnic lunches is available.

The cocktail hour is an excellent time to meet fellow guests. Hot and cold hors d'oeuvres and a wide range of wines, beer and spirits are available.

The dinner menu changes nightly and features local produce and seafood. The best New Zealand lamb and beef are served. Executive Chef Barry Frith oversees the culinary team. Our Pastry Chef is a master of exotic and tempting desserts.
